Our medical staff consists of six General Practioners whose interests reach beyond general health services.

Deborah Petro Kreahling, MSN, APRN, BC

Deborah Petro Kreahling is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing in Maryland and Pennsylvania.  She is also the President and owner of DPK Counseling & Consulting, LLC.  She earned both her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and Masters of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nuring from the University of Pittsburgh.  She has also received and maintains ANCC accreditation in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.

Deborah has worked in Mental Health for over 20 years.  She has also worked in Administrative positions in the Hospital setting for over 15 years.  She enjoys working in both arenas.

Her clinical areas of expertise include:

1.  ADHD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)
2.  Anxiety/OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)
3.  Depressing/Mood Disorders
4.  Eating Disorders

Deborah most frequently utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapies and Bowen's Family Systems Theory to guide her clinical practice.  She attends several Continuing Education Programs each year to maintain and improve her clinical expertise.

Dr. Jack E. Rosenblatt

Dr. Jack Rosenblatt is a Psychiatrist and expert in Adolescent and Adult Psychopharmacology.  He is board certified in psychiatry and neurology.  He currently has his own private practice in Bethesday and practices one day a week at DPK Counseling & Consulting in Prince Frederick.  Dr. Rosenblatt has practiced psychiatry since 1974.  Dr. Rosenblatt comes well qualified to DPK Counseling & Consulting.  He spent a five-year fellowship working for NIH, did his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and received his medical doctorate from Vanderbilt University.  



Amanda Schiavoni, MSW, LCSW-C

Amanda Schiavoni is a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland and Washington, D.C.  She has worked with individuals and groups in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings.  Her experiences have included a community mental health clinic, a psychiatric residential/day program, an inpatient eating disorders treatment program, and in-home services to families with children.  She has been involved in programs for dual diagnosis and has facilitated therapy groups focusing on adolescent issues weight management.  Area of special interest have included eating disorders and chronic mental illness.  She earned her B.A. in Sociology from Mount St. Mary's College and her M.S.W. from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.


Ingrid America, NCC, LCPC

Ingrid America received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from St. Mary's College of Maryland where she participated in the Brent Calvert Fellowship Program.  She received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University.  She remains committed to continuing education, frequently attending professional trainings, seminars and conferences.  Mrs. America, a resident of Calvert County for over 30 years, and mother of four, has worked in the mental health field for nearly 18 years.  She works with children, adolescents and adults, providing diagnostic evaluations; individual, family, and group counseling; treatment planning; case management; and treatment recommendations.  Her approach emphasizes cognitive/behavioral strategies that are culturally sensitive withina biopsychosocial framework.  Areas of interest include:  adjustment issues; disruptive behavior disorders, including ADHD; serious and persistent mental illness; co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse; mood disorders; and loss.
                              


Irene E. Reed, RN, CSP, M.Ed. General Therapy

Irene Reed has been a therapist for four years.  She has been with DPK Counseling and Consulting for one year.  She specializes in Art Therapy, Women and Family Issues, PTS, Communication, Abuse, ADD, LD, Hyperactivity, Faith Issues, Anxiety and Depression.  



   
Susan Sferra, LCMFT

Susan Sferra is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Maryland. She has worked with children, adults, couples, and families.  Her professional placements have included agencies dedicated to working with children and their families, a military Family Life Center working with military members and their families, and the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Counseling Unit, working with adolescents and their families. In addition, she has run numerous groups, including those focused on anger management issues, co-parenting issues for families in the process of divorce, general parenting issues, and relationship difficulties. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Virginia and her M.S. from Virginia Tech.
